DeepSeek's Funding Round

From the $70 billion valuation target in July to the resumed round at $74 billion in August 2026: DeepSeek's funding round, tracked over time.

DeepSeek has been negotiating a second external funding round since mid-July 2026, initially targeting a valuation of around $70 billion. In late July, leaked investor remarks by founder Liang Wenfeng triggered a pause in talks, which resumed in early August at a higher target value.

Since then, a valuation of up to $74 billion has been reported, with the round expected to close by the end of August. In parallel, DeepSeek is preparing for an IPO on Shanghai’s STAR Market, which could happen as early as 2027.
