Anthropic's data protection for corporate clients

From the first report on self-hosted cloud storage in August to the official launch of Enterprise Frontier Safeguards in September 2026.

Anthropic has been gradually easing the requirement, introduced in June 2026, that corporate clients store usage data centrally on Anthropic’s own servers. In August, media first reported an unconfirmed plan to let companies store this data in their own cloud infrastructure.

In September 2026, the official, named implementation followed with Enterprise Frontier Safeguards: corporate clients can now store their data in their own accounts at AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure, while automated analysis continues to search for abuse. More than 100 companies helped develop the system.
